Welcome to Smut or Guts Book Boxes! We are committed to creating a thoughtful, cozy reading experience with every box we send. Please review our policies before placing your order.

Subscription Policy

Smut or Guts Book Boxes is a recurring monthly subscription.

By purchasing a subscription, you authorize recurring charges according to the plan you select until you cancel your subscription.

Subscribers may:

  • Skip a month

  • Reschedule a shipment

  • Update their shipping address

  • Update their payment information

  • Cancel their subscription at any time through their customer portal before the monthly renewal date

Changes made after your subscription has renewed may not take effect until the following month's shipment.

Founding Member Pricing

Founding Member pricing is available only during our introductory launch period.

Subscribers who secure a Founding Member subscription and maintain an active subscription will keep their Founding Member price for as long as their subscription remains active.

If a Founding Member subscription is canceled, paused beyond any allowable limits, or otherwise terminated, Founding Member pricing cannot be reinstated.

Founding Member spots are limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Shipping Policy

Boxes ship once each month.

Your order confirmation confirms your subscription, while a separate shipping confirmation email will be sent once your box has been shipped.

Shipping timelines may vary due to:

  • Publisher release schedules

  • Supplier delays

  • Weather

  • Carrier delays

  • Holidays

Once a package has been accepted by the shipping carrier, Smut or Guts Book Boxes is not responsible for shipping delays outside of our control.

Customers are responsible for ensuring their shipping address is accurate before their renewal date.

Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Packages

If your box arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 days of delivery.

Please include:

  • Your order number

  • Photos of the shipping box

  • Photos of the damaged items

If a package is marked as delivered but cannot be located, we recommend first checking with:

  • Household members

  • Neighbors

  • Your local post office or carrier

Replacement boxes cannot be guaranteed for packages that are lost or stolen after delivery has been confirmed by the carrier.

Returns & Refunds

Due to the curated nature of our subscription boxes, we do not accept returns or exchanges on shipped boxes.

Refunds are generally not available once a renewal has processed or a box has entered fulfillment.

If we make an error with your order or an item arrives damaged, please contact us and we will work to make it right whenever possible.

Book Selection Policy

Every month, our books are personally selected by Smut or Guts Book Boxes.

Our mission is to introduce readers to incredible books they may not have discovered on their own.

Because of this:

  • Books are selected by us.

  • Specific titles cannot be requested.

  • We cannot guarantee hardcover or paperback editions.

  • We cannot guarantee special editions, sprayed edges, signed copies, or exclusive covers.

Our focus is discovering outstanding recently published books rather than following bestseller trends.

Duplicate Book Policy

We make every reasonable effort to avoid sending duplicate books to active subscribers.

However, because books may also be purchased elsewhere, we cannot guarantee you have not previously purchased or received a selected title.

Product Variations

Photos shown on our website represent examples of the style and quality of our boxes.

Specific colors, scents, flavors, patterns, and accessory styles may vary from month to month while maintaining the overall value and theme of your selected subscription.

Allergy Disclaimer

Some boxes may include food, beverages, candles, wax melts, lotions, lip balms, or other scented products.

While we do our best to source quality products, Smut or Guts Book Boxes cannot guarantee products are free from allergens.

Customers with allergies or sensitivities should use discretion before using included products.

Our Romance and Thriller selections are intended for mature readers.

Books may contain themes including, but not limited to:
